BATTLES
okay, so here at stars & streetlights, we do not use a stats system; one, because it is pretty complicated, and two, since we're strictly a coordinating site, battles aren't extremely important, unless needed to capture the perfect pokemon for your coordinating team, or to level up your pokemon in order to get said perfect pokemon and moveset. so, we like to keep it simple!
001. please keep in mind that we do not have abilities or held items at stars. this is to keep the site focused on creativity and artistic battling, instead of hardcore statistics and numbers.
002. each battle post can include up to two moves from each pokemon involved. both moves can be defensive, offensive, one of each--whatever. it's entirely up to you.
003. battles go on between other coordinators or with a wild pokemon. if you wish to have a thread modded for a wild pokemon, please make it noticeable to a staff member in your thread title--just include 'mod' somewhere and we'll get to it as soon as possible. make sure you state the level of the pokemon your character is using so you can receive an appropriately leveled foe.
004. for each wild pokemon battle, the pokemon used to 'faint' its foe will gain 2 levels. you must complete the battle before you gain the levels. for each trainer vs. trainer battle, the winner receives 3-4 levels while the loser will receive 1-2 levels. a mod will determine which levels you receive, as it is based on how well the posts are being written. please contact a staff member if levels are needed after a win.
005. after each battle, your character is required to use a healing item on your pokemon to revive it (ie. a potion, revive, etc.). healing items may not be used during a battle, as this could become unfair, and cause drama where none is needed. remember to update your logs if any items are used! we will have a list of items that are used on stars & streetlights.
